This is my favorite watch. I have been wearing this watch for about 17 years. When I wear one watch out, I buy another one exactly like it. I got my first one at Walmart, and I've gotten a couple here on Amazon. Each watch has lasted about 5 to 7 years, and I am very hard on watches. I am working out a lot now, and sweating a significant amount at work-outs. So I wash off my watch with soap and water every day, and I was worried that this waterproof watch might somehow stop working with all this wear and tear. So I needed to buy another one for my backup. I could not find this watch anywhere but here on Amazon. No one seems to be selling it anymore. The watch is pretty, the gold is a lovely color, and it's very easy to read. The blueish light (Indiglo) comes on when you push in the setting knob, so it's easy to read the watch in dark environments. I have smaller wrists, so all the other watch bands I've tried slide down to my hand. This watch band stays put and is comfortable. For those of you with larger wrists, you might get a different watch band that fits you better, and use it with this watch. This watch band fits me perfectly, and the watch itself keeps perfect time, is easy to read, is feminine and pretty, and can take a beating. I tried one of those fitness watches, but it was expensive, ugly, black, and not comfortable. I love this Timex watch.

This is a great basic watch. Plain face that is easy to read at a glance, even in a dim room. Has a second hand that I use every day for work. It is stylish without being gaudy and matches my other jewelry. Exactly what I was looking for : )
Love this watch , but for small wrists only!
I love my new Timex watch! It fits my wrist perfectly. But beware – I have a small rest and wear a size 7 bracelet.. Be sure you have a small wrist before you purchase this watch or it will be so tight it will be uncomfortable. I have difficulty finding watches that are small enough for me so I am delighted with this one. It is a very nice looking watch. It also appears to be keeping time very accurately.
I keep buying this watch--for good reason
This model is my favorite, and I've been wearing it for three decades. It is also the subject of my favorite Timex story.
When I got my first well-paid job, I bought a pricey Bulova. Beautiful watch, but it stayed in the shop continually. So I went out and bought a Timex like this one as a backup to wear while my supposedly "good" watch was being fixed (yet again). Unlike the Bulova, the Timex got no special treatment; I wore it gardening, composting, working out till the sweat ran, washing dishes, and so on. I liked it precisely because it didn't require special treatment. And if I woke up in the middle of the night, I had it by my bed so that I could just press it and see the time without turning on a lamp. I was very happy with it.
But one day I lost it; I didn't notice until evening. By then, I had done a lot of yard/garden work, the usual fall chores: spreading mulch on the natural area, turning the spent vegetable garden for the end-of-season lull, turning the compost pile one last time for the season, and so on. I went out the next morning to retrace my steps but couldn't find the watch. Disappointing, but no big deal: the Timex was cheap, I'd had it for almost a year and gotten my money's worth, and my life was more sedentary in the winter. I'd buy another Timex when my life got active in the spring.
Fast-forward to the spring. No, on second thought, let me pause to say that the winter where I lived was typical: plenty of rain, plenty of snow, plenty of below-freezing temperatures. But when spring finally did roll around, I went out to the yard to do my spring chores. In double-digging my vegetable garden, I found my Timex. And guess what? It was still running, and it had kept perfect time despite being buried in clods of dirt.
The next time my expensive watch went out on me, I threw it in the garbage, and I have never worn any watch other than this model of Timex since then. It may not be a prestigious brand, but I decided I didn't care a fig. And that hasn't changed.
I can't judge the decline, if any, in workmanship over the decades. The last one I bought was almost eight years old when I lost it, and I never found that one. But my experience is such that I still think this one will outlast the other brands, anyway--and possibly outlast me. In any event, I'm not switching brands or models.
Two tone is great with silver and gold jewelry!
Fan of Timex! They really do take a licking and keep on ticking! Tho I haven’t tried, I still wouldn’t wear them under water tho. Why risk it? I wash my hands with it on and have no problem with water running down my wrists and it being a bit wet. I dry it off along with my hands and all is well. My favorite two things with this particular watch, it has two tone metal and I can wear gold or silver jewelry along side and no clashing. Maybe now , with rose gold jewelry, maybe they should make a tri colored band??? Just an idea. And my sevond favorite thing about it is the indiglo light! Bathroom trips in the middle of the night are no fun, but when pressed, the light is plenty bright enough to get me there safely without turning on extra lamps and waking my lover. Just a great value and looks great too!

This watch is wonderful. Working just as well as the last one! The battery wore out on the last one. I live in a rural area and the only person in our small Walmart that is trained to replace the battery was promoted! She was able to change it last time, but has been promoted once again, and is away for training... So after really looking at the old one, The glass was scratched after 10-12 years of rough usage, band showing signs of wear after being stretched over my wrist supports.... I decided to go for a new one. I got the silver colored one. Looks nice on my wrist, keeping time, light working perfect. The only thing that I do not like about this watch is the date function. I can barely read it. Comes preset to 1... you have to roll it forward 24 times per day to change it! I suppose if you have good eyes, and nimble fingers, or wait till the first to start it? Then you have to remember to up the date every month with 31 days! Sigh! First world problems. Band fits perfect, waterproof, easy to read... Takes a lickin and keeps on ticking!
Best watch ever for small wrists
As someone with a small wrist this watch works great. It's the only watch I've ever found that doesn't spin in circles around my wrist. Timex makes another watch that looks similar that is mostly gold tone with a silver tone around the outside rim of the band, I thought I'd give it a try because it also had a second hand and easy to read numbers but the only way I could wear it was to place it so far up my arm that it just looked silly. I noticed reading the reviews that there are a lot of comments about the watch band being too small. Those of us who have small wrists find it difficult to find a band small enough. To my knowledge this is the only expandable band that is small enough. Thankfully Timex makes more watch styles than I could count so there are countless styles for those who need the band to be larger. I suppose it would be great if they made this style in two sizes because it's also great for those of us that need a second hand and easily read numbers to take pulses and respiration counts. I've been wearing this exact style for decades. It also looks great when going out for special occasions.
Tried and True
I love this watch. It goes with everything, casual or dressy, and tells time the old school way. If you ever have trouble seeing its perfect little face, just push the button and it will light up in Indiglo. By sad accident, I lost my first one (which I had for a year or two) and thought about changing to a different style-- but this is a little work horse and it just has an elegant look "round the clock"-- so I reordered the tried and true. Can't recommend it enough.
Wonderful Wrist Watch
I am amazed at this very incredible watch! I stupidly forgot to take it off before bathing, and I was in a very hot tub for a half hour trying to loosen up my shoulder, fully submerged with hands included, only my head was above the water. When I got out to dry myself, to my horror I saw that I was wearing the watch! I wrapped it with paper towel trying to dry it as fast as I could, and I noticed the light was still working. Then I took a closer look and realized the entire watch was working perfectly, as if it had never happened! I will make sure to remove it the next time I bathe/shower, but if I get caught in the rain with it on I certainly won’t panick! What a wonderful wrist watch! Thank you Timex and Amazon! Perfection!
I've always been very happy with TImex
I finally replaced my 15 yr old Indiglo Timex when the face stopped illuminating when I pushed in the stem. Other than that, it still kept perfect time despite wearing it 24/7, getting it wet or covered in soil from my flower beds.
I usually order one with a leather band, but this time ordered an expandable band and I really like it. The band is too large for my wrist so it fits more like a bracelet, and I push it up my arm when it might get wet. Best of all I can check the time at night and not disturb my spouse.
I've worn a Timex for over 50 years and have never been disappointed. They last forever despite my poor care of My first watch was a Timex and have never felt the need to try another brand. They look nice and always keep perfect time. .

I love the indiglo watches. I have been buying them for years. In the middle of the morning when you wonder what time it is you just have to push the button and you can go back to sleep because you didn't have to turn on the light to see the time or get up to look. I have several and when the indiglo quits working (as it does after a number of years) I just get a new one and use the ones without the "night light" to work in the yard.

My mom has used a metal banded watch for years. A few years ago I bought her a canvas one and she liked it well enough but never loved it. So for her birthday this year I bought her this model. She loves it and wears it daily.
Her eyesight isn't what it used to be but she can see the numbers bought with and without the indiglo feature in bright light and dim. The band is comfortable and doesn't pinch. It's a Timex so I know she will get years of use. Batteries are easy to find when it needs replaced too. There are just no cons to a Timex!

It might not be beautiful, but it is a terrific basic watch. I buy it for the Indiglo and the wonderful band. I only take off my watch in water, so it gets plenty of wear, but the only reason I've ever had to replace one is because the battery goes dead. And even at that, the shortest a battery has ever lasted for me was a little over a year. This one is my fourth or fifth You don't keep buying that many of something unless you truly like it. I like this. And the price is ridiculously fair. So, if you want a basic watch with an expansion, slip-on band, numerals on the face and the Indiglo feature, I feel good saying you probably can't do better than this watch.

I have a similar watch (it's gold toned) that I have had for years (at least 5 years). I like it better than some of the expensive watches that I've had. It's easy to read (for those of us who now have to put our reading glasses on to see anything tiny), it is comfortable to wear, its sturdy (I ride horses so it can take a licking (sometimes literally) and keep on ticking), it's water resistant (can't tell you how many times I forgot to take it off while I shower) and bonus, it lights up when you press the button so when you wake up in the middle of the night and want to know what time it is and you don't want to have to roll over and pick up your phone, it's right there.
So, when my mom wanted a good watch, I had to pick this one up for her.

As are a lot of buyers, I am a nurse and this has always been my watch of choice. Bake to get time in the dark, to move it up and down my arm....I live it. However, my last one, purchased in 2018, needed anew battery. I got 2, one for my other same Timex. The problem IS....getting the back cover off (I finally did with help from YouTube and a sharp knife). But then neither I or a friend, could put either back on. SO I bought 4 batteries, used 2....and still wound up having to buy a new watch.
I have a 6 inch wrist. The band is a little loose but workable. One time I bought one with a too small band. I wish Timex would be a little more specific in describing band size. Just what IS Woman's standard size? Couldn't find that answer anywhere but hoped the one I purchased would fit me.
Still going to stand by this watch!

Like some other reviewers I am a repeat purchaser of this watch. I think I am on my fourth one! I wear it until the battery dies in about 5 years, then buy a new one. It is reliable, attractive, and durable. I like to be able to light it up in the night to see what time it is. The only useless feature is the calendar function. I cannot read the date displayed so I just ignore it. Several reviewers comment on the size of the band. The watch fits me perfectly. My wrist measures 6”. I hope this helps.

I started wearing this watch many years ago when I was an active nurse. Hand washing is a big part of nursing and other watch bands would get wet and cause problems. This expansion band I could just move up my arm without having to take it off. Well, these many years later I am still wearing this watch (actually I have bought many of them when I could not find a source to replace the battery) because I have a vision problem and the numbers on the dial are easy to read. Also, I like that I can illuminate the dial in dark areas. It is a little difficult to set the day but that is not a problem because it is too little for me to read with my vision problem. I cannot determine how long the battery lasts but I know I haven't replaced this watch in several years. The cost is not prohibitive to replacement.

This is a beautiful watch. Timex watches are reliable as well as beautiful, and cost-effective. The two-toned look is very attractive, and it keeps time well. I have bought Timex Indiglo watches for many years, and really do not consider anything else when needing a new watch. I especially like the Indiglo feature: it's bright enough to see the display without any trouble at night, and I can always know what time it is in the dark.
These watches can stand a considerable amount of rought usage, and are water-resistant. I buy a new one about every five years, and that is because the old one has been dropped with a particular amount of force.
The bracelet is 1/2 inch wide--slightly wider than my previous ones were, but it's still very attractive and elegant.

I love this watch. I had a similar one--slightly larger face--that I used for years (more than 10, I think) until the plating had worn off from most of the case and it looked pretty shabby. I replaced the battery and band a few times, maybe every other year. I love the backlight feature and the easy-to-read face. I wear the watch 24x7 and I am nearsighted, so that reading the alarm clock face from across the room is difficult during the night. Just being able to check the time with a touch in the dark is a simple luxury. When I decided it was time to replace it, I was unable to find a Timex to suit, so I replaced the old watch with a back-lighted model from another manufacturer (Anne Klein). However, the light on this AK model doesn't illuminate the numbers, only the hands! What's up with that?! Having grown accustomed to the perfection of this feature in Timex, I was disappointed. And then the band broke, at less than one year old. So, I was delighted to see this watch, which is affordable and has the backlight feature I love. I highly recommend this watch.

I think this is the third one of this exact watch that I’ve bought now. The battery lasts a few years, and it is water resistant, I never take it off, not even to shower (which means I don’t lose it). However, when the battery does finally die, the whole watch has to be replaced, or else it will not be water resistance. I believe most (if not all) water resistant watches are like that though. I like the classic, simple style, and the Indio is handy. Highly recommend!

I've only had the watch a week, but I really like it. It's very easy to read, which I never considered an issue in the same way I do now. I knew watches without numbers were problematic, but never considered the general clarity to have such a profound impact. I thought I had smaller wrists, but after reading all the reviews and some indicating issues in that realm, I believe I now know I don't have small wrists. Maybe medium. Either way, the watch fits well. sometimes it seems tight, but I think it's stretching just a bit, which is making it rather comfortable. The only setback is it has a feature some like but I hate... the date feature over what should be the number 3. It is a nuisance since it is so small of font that you can't read it. At least at my age and I'm not THAT old! Still it is the best I can do at the price range and I will always have a silver stretch band Timex Indiglo. It is just exactly what you need for an everyday watch!

Bought this for travel. When I wake up while traveling, I like knowing the time. The 'Indiglo' watchface is great, just aim it slightly away from your face if you've been asleep ;). This is very inexpensive so if I'd lost it, I wouldn't be heartbroken, just sorry. I have rather skinny wrists, and I like how it was loose on my wrist. Europe (in the summer) has been extremely hot, and if the watchband were tight, it wouldn't have been good.

I had to start wearing watches when I was 16 working as a Nurses Aide that was when you did not have to be 18. I needed one that was water resistant and in expensive. I only made 1.65 per hour back then. OOPs now you know how old I am. Well the watches I wore were more than this one but this one is great I can see the numbers without my reading glasses and the indigo works like it always has. This is a great watch. I will always use timex as I have washed more than one in the washer and they always keep ticking.

I really like it. I've only had it a month or so, but it's been quite reliable. I have a very small wrist, and it doesn't quite fit, but I don't mind if it hangs down a little bit. It looks nice, too. I would highly recommend it.
And I asked before I bought it about its water resistance and got positive answers -- such as just don't dunk it into water. So far, I've had no problems with water, and my hands are constantly in it. I do pull the watch up my arm a little just to be safe, though.

Love the watch design and simple no-frills basic functions. One big complaint, however, is that band is too large for my scrawny old wrist. If it had a non-stretch band, the kind with holes for adjustment, it would have been perfect. I live with this problem with all watches, bracelets, blouse long sleeve cuffs etc. and bought this watch anyway...shove it midway up my arm until it sticks, so why not!

I've worn these watches for years. I love the Indiglo feature so much I won't change. Typical of inexpensive watches, it won't last forever. When the battery goes, it's hardly worth replacing, because the next thing to go will be the Indigo. My last watch like this lasted through a change of battery, loss of Indiglo, and finally died after I wore with an broke, open crystal. Because Amazon has such a good price on these, I think they are worth a 5 star review, because the features are wonderful, and it performs well for about 2-3 years.

Last time, I bought the other model of this watch and the band was slightly too large (I took it to a jewelry shop to adjust and forever after it was slightly too small and tended to pinch), so thanks to the comments of other customers, I got this one, and it fits perfectly. Would love to have a version without the date, but with the indiglo feature, which I really like. All in all, a very satisfactory watch - solid, good-looking, unfussy, clean and readable. And it arrived very quickly as well.

I discovered (through the reviews) that there were two versions, one with a larger band than the other. I'm on the petite side, so I ordered the one with the smaller band. It floats on my wrist. I bought this watch to replace my other Timex watch which I had for more than 15 years. The watch still works but the battery is dying and with Covid-19 I can't get a new one because the stores are closed or gone out of business. I'm a caregiver and need my watch when caring for my charges.
My new Timex is great! The numbers are large, the night light works well and the second hand sweep helps when checking pulses and blood pressure, etc.
I trust the Timex brand. My old watch took a beating and got wet when giving baths or showers and still works. My new one has all the same features and can go under water as well. One of my dogs likes licking my hands, arms and my watch. It works well even with dog drool!

This has been the perfect watch for me to use out at our cabin. It was cheap enough that it didn't matter if it got dirty. It has the bigger numbers and the night light, so it was easy to read in the middle of the night. I have thoroughly enjoyed using it. I did have a problem putting the back on it after I replaced the battery. I tried for a long time, I had my husband try to get the back on. I even had my 30 year old son try to put the back on it. After several attempts, I decided to just buy another watch just like the one I had. I am sad that I can't get the back on my previous Timex Women's T2H381 Easy Reader Two-Tone, but I am very happy to have another one!!!! They work like a charm. If anyone has any ideas on how to get the back onto the first watch, I would be happy to try.

My wife has been wearing this style Timex watch for 25+ years now. It's always in fashion, wears well, comfortable, and very pretty on her wrist. She has small wrists and this fits well. There have been a few design changes over the years, but the fundamental watch remains the same. The only thing I don't like is that Timex has gone to a non-replaceable watch band which means the watch becomes obsolete when the band starts to fall apart. Fortunately that only happens about every 7-8 years so it's not a huge thing.

I purchased this watch because based on the other reviews, this seemed to be the watch to buy for your mom. Kindred souls are we Amazon shoppers. Anyway, mom really likes it. She prefers this type of wristband -- the flexible/expandable kind -- whatever you call it. I was worried the watch face would be too large for her tiny wrist, but it's not. It looks good and the larger numbers are easier for her to see. She was also kind of tickled to discover the Indiglo feature (light-up face). I just hope Timex still makes 'em like they used to, and this one also lasts many years.

This watch is perfect for my needs and desires. Elegant burnished gold-looking tapered stretch band designed for small wrists like mine. (Timex used to make this same watch but with a band for larger wrists ----- I don't know if they still make it). Easy-to-read numbers on the face, and my favorite feature, the blue Indiglo light!! Boy, does that come in handy! I had bought this same watch in Oct 2012 but I guess I used the Indiglo light so much that I wore it out. That watch has kept on ticking, but I'm replacing it now only because of the light. I will say that this watch doesn't look all that expensive (I don't think you could fool anyone). However, in my opinion, it doesn't look real cheap and I'm proud to wear it every day. I also like the stretch band because it's so easy to put it on and remove it, as opposed to a leather strap or a clasp. My only suggestion to improve it would be to make the round metal part that frames the face, make it also burnished gold rather than bight gold. A very good value for the price. I recommended it.

I purchase this watch for myself, my mother and mother-in-law. I wear it all the time the light helps me see it at night when I'm in bed. Just the date is a little to small for me to see even with my glasses on. I had this watch many years ago and it broke ( the band broke) so when I saw it on amazon I bought it right away. Love It!

The indiglo function generates terrific contrast when looking at the time in the dark. My wife's wrist is fairly small and this fit hers perfectly -- it should be noted that she owns a previous example without the date mechanism that has the finish worn off and a lower quadrant below the top the numeral six of the indiglo not lighting up probably due to her forgetting to take it off during a shower -- and the band has loosened somewhat in the years she's owned it but not overly so.
Upon reception and comparing the older and newer they are virtually identical except for the date function which one shouldn't get hopes up to actually see or be able to use. :) Otherwise the numerals are clear, even, and very readable. A good purchase.

This is probably my third Timex Easy Reader in the past 30 years. They are clear to read and the indiglo helps in low light or at night to check the time. My last one seemed to need a new battery after many years, losing time and the indiglo stopped working. I tried just using my phone for the time, but found after 3 months it wasn't working for me. I needed to check the time more surreptitiously and the phone method didn't work for that. I had one of these watches for around ten years, and it was still running perfectly when I decided to buy another. I only opted for a new one because the old watch had become scratched around the casing and had lost a plate covering a link of the band and the little cap over the winding stem. The band itself was still intact, and the stem still functioned to change the time and calendar.
I had worn the first watch on my nursing job, during yard work, and even to bed--anywhere it would not become submerged in water (which it did several times, for short periods, when I forgot to remove it to shower). The band is so comfortable that it's easy to forget I have it on my wrist, and the watch's attractive, understated appearance makes it appropriate for any occasion.

I wanted a two tone watch with a night light and a date function--one that is easily set. This watch has it all. It is two tone, albeit a little heavy on the gold. The date is easily set, not like my last timex that had to be set by turning the hands 24 hours for each day change. And the watch is attractive--not fancy, but good for all purpose use.
When the watch arrived, it was a little large. Taking a tip from other reviewers, I took it to my local Fred Meyer jewelers and had three links removed (they didn't charge me a thing, although I would have gladly paid for the service). I still have the links in case I should ever have to have them put back.
I have been using timex watches for many years, as they are inexpensive and reliable. I believe this watch will be no exception.

I got this for my mother for Christmas, and I'm very happy to report that this is the one gift I gave in 2006 that perfectly fit the recipient's wish list. She loves it.
She had worn the same watch for over twenty years, and that one had finally had it. Truth be told, my mom isn't really that much of a watch-wearer, but had been wanting a replacement for those times when she wanted to have one, even as just an accessory. Now, she wears a watch all the time.
While the watch face isn't huge -- it's reasonably sized -- the numbers are very easy to read for the eyes of a grandmother, and the font is attractive. Even the little date number inset on the three-o'clock side of the face is easy to read, and while she'd never had a watch with a date on it before, she realizes now how much she appreciates it.
It's a handsome watch in a classy gold, and she also loves the band, which is very comfortable and expands and contracts with movement nicely.
Lastly, and I get a kick out of this; she adores the indiglo feature. Her previous watch had a little light-up button on it (one of the old-style teeny-tiny fron-the-side lights which never really threw off enough light, and even that had expired years before, and the indiglo light illuminates the whole face very nicely and clearly in a pleasing blue glow. She tells me that sometimes at night she'll press that button just because she can. What a nice thing to say! :^)
To sum up, my mom wears this watch all the time, and I can tell she really loves it. The fact that she wears it so often tells me that it was the perfect gift to get her in 2006!

I really do like this watch. I have had Timex's for years at a time. Love the indiglo lighting, when I saw this one I just had to have it. The band is very dainty yet durable. The bad thing is it is too small for my small wrist, I took it to see if I could get it enlarged (a few bars added to it) and not only will they not do it, but they don't even sell bands to fit this watch. I have no idea what to do about that, because my last Timex outlasted 2 watch bands!

I wondered about the battery since I could find no mention of it but decided to take a chance and was delighted to find one already installed. This is not always the case. In the past I've tried to save a few bucks at the drug store and found that by the time I paid for battery and installation I ended up with an inferior watch and a hole in my purse.
As other have pointed out the expansion band best fits women with small wrists. I have invariably paid extra to have a few links removed on other watches. No such problem with this one.
Also it is silver and gold toned so it works well with whatever color of jewelry you wear. I really like this watch!

This is a classic watch! My grandmother had the same watch for many years, her battery broke finally. What do you buy grandma for her birthday??

I got this watch for my wife to replace an old watch that finally gave up. She really likes the clean crisp look to the dial, and easy to read numbers. It's a women's watch and not large. It looks very nice on her wrist. I've had the Timex Expedition Indigo watch for ages, and the wife was very happy with the fact hers has the Indigo back lighted display finally. You push on the stem, and the face glows a soft blue allowing you to read the time in the dark. The wife is very happy, and that means I'm happy with our Timex's.

I can't find batteries for this watch, but for the price it is the best watch I've ever had. Not supposed to be water-proof, just resistant, but I get it wet a lot and it has not clouded up or stopped. I had my last one for 5 years with no problems. I think it just needs a battery. I hope they never stop making this watch. When my old one's battery dies (takes 3-4 years) I buy myself a new one. It fits my small wrist perfectly (if you have large wrists this probably isn't for you), it's comfortable, it keeps perfect time, and most importantly it is waterproof (technically water-resistant). Since I have to wash my hands dozens of times a day, that is a critical feature for me.
The date feature is a pain; in months with less than 31 days you have to advance it manually. So I just ignore that part.

I got this watch as a Christmas gift for my partner. It's a really nice-looking watch, and I'm sure she'll like wearing it someday. Unfortunately, the band is really small. I had to recheck the item listing here on Amazon to be sure I didn't accidentally purchase a child's watch. Nope. Apparently Timex thinks all women have really dainty little wrists.
As you can see in my photo, if you have wrists that are much bigger than a toilet paper tube, the band will be too tight. I mean, I know it's a stretch band, but to fit, it will have to stretch to an uncomfortable, pinching size. So now I have to spend more money to buy a bigger watchband.

I did have a problem when I first tried to set the time. I went online to the Timex help site and they said to put it in the window, which didn't do any good so I called and found that I was just not pulling the stem to far enough. My old fingers are not as nimble as they once were! Once I got that answer it worked fine. I always wear expansion bands because it makes hand washing, so important now, easier. Healthcare workers need to wash not just the hands but the wrist and up the arm.
I have been buying Timex for 65 years and find even though they are no longer made in the US they are a good product. Of course having said that I have to admit watches, from Timex or anyone else, do not last as long. My first Timex lasted 30 years. Now we are lucky if a watch lasts 3 years. Sad.

Bought this watch for my mother. It looks nice oh, and that's why we picked this one out. It came wrapped in tissue paper in a plain box. No official Timex box or instructions. The band is very small and I don't know if it's going to fit her wrist. The backlighting is nice and bright. The numbers are easy to read; however, the date is very difficult to read as the font is very small I'm guessing about three or four pitch. If my mother likes it we will keep it, but if not, we will return it. The one picture with the two watches is this watch next to my Galaxy 46 mm watch.

Small wrist here..and I love this watch.
Up side: it fits perfectly, I super-like the way it looks, it's easy to read the time, and it keeps good time too. I don't have to worry about washing the dishes or forgetting to take it off in the shower for its water resistance, but also the stretchy link band makes it so easy to slip off and slip back on.
The only frustrating down side is that I can't ever read the date when I'm out (old eyes) and when I do examine the date carefully with good light I don't know why, but it's always off despite the time be spot on. I understand "30 days hath September" and that's not the problem!
Still, to end on an up note, when I inadvertently left this watch in a hotel I immediately bought another one.

Originally I ordered the men's easy reader watch thinking it would be a bigger face which it was, but unfortunately it was too big for my tiny wrist. So I returned it and got the women's easy reader watch. It's very pretty, very high-quality, the band isn't as shiny as I expected it to be, it looks more like stainless steel than silver. Also if you want to set the date it's going to take a while because the only way I found to do it is to rotate the hands over and over and over again, 24 hours each day, so I decided not to use that, but you might want to. All in all I'm very happy with my purchase.

I like the style and the accuracy. The time is very easy to read, but the date is difficult to read, and it doesn't seem to change until later in the day. My wrist is just under 6 inches, and I had to bring the band to a jeweler to have it shortened. It is not something you can do yourself. My jeweler has been in the business for 50 years, and he said it was one of the most difficult watch bands to shorten that he has come across. Overall, I like it and plan to use it for several years.

The band was a little stiff at first but relaxed to fit my wrist comfortably. The watch face, although small in profile, has numbers that are easy to read at a glance. The date however, is very small and you really have to peer at it. The most significant difference between the old and new model is the brightness of the night light - the new one is a bit dimmer. Overall a very sturdy, reliable watch with a comfortable flexible band, a second hand, and a small watch face.

My 94-year-old mom loves this watch. I have two issues: date window is very small and date is hard to read. (I need a magnifying glass to read the date.) However reading the time is very easy (high marks for the large numbers on the dial !). My only other complaint is that initially setting the date is a pain. It’s the old school: “pull knob to set time and spin hands forward 24 hours for each day you want to advance to.” Example: you open your brand new watch and the date is set to the first. You received the watch on the 11th so you need to adjust the date from 1 to 11. That means to get the date to 11 you need to spin the hour/minute hands forward the equivalent of 10 days. That’s annoying. Fortunately you only have to do it once and then you only deal with months that have 30 days instead of 31… (Spin the hands forward one day to go from June 30 to July 1) You get the idea. I can’t speak to water resistance. This watch is good value for the money. I give it a solid four stars.

My wrist is less than 6" so I knew the band would be big (which it is). I don't like tight watches and prefer a bangle look. My hope was that this would also prevent the stretch links from pinching, but unfortunately it doesn't - ouch. I do wish the band was high polish to match the face rather than brushed or stainless looking. Other than those two complaints, I think the price reflects a good value for this Timex.

I have purchased this same Timex Easy Reader watch several times over the years. I love it. It’s very functional and because it’s water resistant I very seldom take it off even doing dishes. And the indigo light is a must at night. I hate trying to find my phone to check the time. However as you can see by the pictures this watch band is much bigger than my previous one. It just flops around my wrist. For reference, my wrist measures 6”. I’m going to see if my mom can wear it. If not I will have to return it. But all in all I love the watch.

Now I remember why my old Timex was BIG. It was because I bought a men's watch because the women's was a bit tight on my wrist, as this one is. My wrist is 7 1/4 inches and I am very glad to get this off my wrist after the need for it has passed. Otherwise it is a great watch. Now to find a local place that replaces batteries. So many of those shops are gone and I have to travel a bit to find one. Once when replacing battery I wrecked the back of a watch so not trying it again.

The only negative thing is that the expansion wristband popped off after only a few months. I took it to a local family owned jewelry store and the man fixed it for $2. It was around Christmas and I had to wait over a week to get it fixed. I sure am glad I have my Timex watch back with me because I missed it very much. I like the watch, but face is smaller that I thought it would be from the picture. I wanted one that is easy on aging eyes, so I would have liked a slightly larger face, but the contrast is good and I can still see the dial pretty well. The band is a good length for an average wrist. My wrist is 6.5" and the band is almost just right, on the large size. I think I could remove one or two links if I want a tighter fit, but so far I like it loose enough to turn. Nice band color --the gold is antique-looking and the silver trim actually looks even better than in the picture. I just wish the dial had every other number instead of every number and a dash or something for every other number --to look more sophisticated and not so 1,2,3-ish. But it has all my other must-have features (the indiglo light, the two-tone and the expansion band, and the easy reading). When you want all that, I guess they think you want an elementary-looking dial too. Somebody tell Timex that simple and needy can also be sophisticated. Lol.

The stem for setting the time is smooth metal with no place to catch to enable pulling it out. I could not set the watch. My brother was visiting and he managed to set the time. When daylight savings comes around I guess I will have to take it to a jewelers to get the time right. The band is slightly large for my wrist so I either let it slide around or place it a little higher on my arm to keep it in place.

Just received this watch today from Amazon and let me say that I am very picky about watches and bought this watch for 2 reasons:
Bought this because TIMEX watch is my favorite brand, and it lasts and lasts! I am going from past experiences both windup Timex watches and also Quartz Timex watches. I still have a 1985 Quartz that is still going, no light in this one this is why I bought this watch and also because it is an EASY READER! I would have given this watch 5 stars but did not because of the watchband problem, please read on in the CONS and you will see why...Also, did not want to see someone else go through the time and expense that I did, it cost me $5 to have the watchband cut and adjusted and even so it is still not a comfortable watchband due to width, so I ended up buying a LEATHER watchband at $9 so it cost me more money and trouble due to the wide width of this watchband that pinches! (I have always found that leather watchbands are easier to adjust, look smart and are so much more comfortable).
PROS:
1) Easy reader feature--this watch is very easy to read yet it is small enough to be feminine as I am girly girly!
2) Great simple design, just right for any occasion from everyday to dressy watch!
3) Best of all, the light as I need to see the time at night and in dimly lit areas.
4) Second hand, great feature
5) Water-resistant, however, I will take it off when I shower just to be on the safe side after reading the other reviews.
CONS:
1) I could only find ONE CON. This watch will only accept a leather band (if you choose to replace the band). I went to a jeweler and had him try to place a very nice metal band that should have fit this watch, it did not because it has to be rounded at the top to fix. *Note that the older Timex watches, you could replace the band with a metal band or a leather band. ****However, I did have the same jeweler take out some lengths out of the band that came with the watch and it fits OK, however because of the WIDTH of the band it pinches and is NOT COMFORTABLE. So at the same time, I bought a leather replacement band and probably have this one put on this watch as I find a leather band is much more comfortable and easy to adjust because I have such small wrists! Would I buy this watch again? Yes for 2 reasons: THE LIGHT feature and the EASY READER FEATURE, for those reasons, and I will enjoy this watch with my new BLACK LEATHER WATCHBAND!

I am disappointed that Amazon displays a photograph of the watch that is a yellower gold-tone and noticably shinier that the actual product I received. The color of the actual product is less yellow-gold and is more steely-golden (stainless steel that has been dyed yellow or "colorized" like an old black-and-white photograph).
The gold-tone does not shine (it is not "reflective"). The metal is a "buffed finish" (not a "shined finish").
You might be thinking something like, "Well, what did she expect? It says "gold-tone stainless steel" right in the product name." True enough. But, Amazon displays an image of the product that's not as steely and un-shiney as the name of the product might otherwise suggest.
- Is it easy to read, as the product name suggests? Yes.
- Is the expansion band comfortable? Yes.
- Does it accurately keep time? Yes.
- Does it glow in the dark when the little time-set knob is pressed? Yes.
Would I purchase it again? No, because I prefer a watch that's a yellower gold-tone and has a smooth, shiney finish, rather than a dull-buff finish.

IMHO the difference in length is significant, the smaller one, this model T2H381, is snug on my wife's wrist and the longer one is much too loose to wear.

I ordered this watch because I need a watch which has minute markings in one minute increments: I am a nurse and need to be able to mark time exactly, and thus need an analog watch which I can look at and determine what time it is to the exact minute, not just approximately. When looking at the picture of this watch it appears that there are minute markings, but there are not.
When I recieved this watch I was not completely satisfied with it, but decided to keep it anyway because I didn't want to bother returning it, and it did work. BUT... a few days after recieving the watch, the watch stopped keeping time properly; this made me late to a meeting which was frustrating. I reset the time on the watch and it ran slow again the next day.
I figure it probably had an old battery, I decided to return the watch because watch batteries are costly and difficult to replace.
Amazon made the return process easy and they even reimbursed me for shipping charges (though I was still a bit of an inconvenience to take time to go to postoffice, wait in line...) Overall satisfied with how transaction progressed, though not thrilled about recieving a watch with an old battery.

My wife bought one exactly like it about 5 yrs ago. The light was getting very weak so I attempted to put a fresh batt in. After many attempts to get the back on,( when I could get it closed with a plastic clamp, 1/2 the gasket would squeeze out), we threw it away and managed to find the exact replacement. My wife likes this watch beceause it has a expansion band that fits her and the idiglo for if she gets up in the middle of the night and at work. She wears it 24/7. Showers, wash dishes and everything with it on. She works in nursing so she washes her hands many times a day. It never even once fogged up in 5 years.
I guess for $30-$40 it is not bad to throw away and replace every 5 years as long as we can get exact replacement. Mabey next time I will take it to jewlery store for batt. replacement.I did keep the spring bars out of the old one. They are nice to have on hand.
I gave it 4 stars due to batt. issue. Otherwise it would get 6 ot 7 stars.

Just purchased this watch again for at least the third time. For under $30 with free shipping, it's a very good value. I've found they last for years and keep good time! My previous ones were exactly the same model but without the date feature, which I quite like on this one. There's nothing particularly fashionable about this watch, though I think the brushed silver-tone band is simple and classy. I like its clear large numbers and hands on a fairly large face. (For those who'd like to know, the visible face is about 13/16 inch and the crisp black numbers are about one eighth inch high by one sixteenth inch wide). I find it easy to read at a glance (except for the much smaller date which requires a bit more scrutiny as it is set below the face and is thus in partial shadow). The band is a little tight on me but still comfortable enough. I'm thinking of taking the longer Speidel band I bought for my old watch and putting it on this new one, but the Timex band is more attractive and doesn't bother me that much. All my Timex watches died in the same way: the crown fell off and also the water-resistance (such as it is) started to deteriorate and miniscule beads of condensation started to appear at times in the center of the watch. (I remove it when bathing and never immerse it.) The Indiglo backlight is brilliant! It would be hard for me to buy a watch without Indiglo.

I've owned versions of this watch since Indiglo was invented. The same thing gets them in the end: a leak that causes hazing on the face. So, every 3-4 years I buy a new $25-40 version of this watch. I never take it off: I bathe, swim, wash dishes with it on. The indiglo function works great. The second arm is true. The band is a little tight at first. I've had to replace them before but that's easy and cheap. Replacing batteries every year isn't so bad if you get the jeweler to do it. I saw at least one review that stated something about the tightness of the band. That is also my only complaint. Although the stainless steel goes well with the watch, the band was too tight; so tight that it pinched my wrist. I was going to purchase another band but found that by twisting the band and putting it aside overnight it was comfortable the next day. I am sure the manufacturer would not suggest this, but it worked for me.

The watch is beautiful and keeps time well. However, the band is a little too tight - leaves my wrist red with large indentations. I will go ahead and keep the watch, hoping it will stretch some more. I have not had this problem with the flexible bands on any watches before, so hoping this will stretch.

I had the same Timex watch for 10 years. When the battery finally died for the 3rd time, I decided the face was too scratched and that I should replace the watch entirely. This one looks like my old watch but includes the date. The Indiglo also seems brighter. The only problem is that the band was tight. My wrists are pretty small, and it pinched me. Thankfully I was able to put my old expansion band on this new watch. Problem solved.

I do like my Timex watch, however I am not pleased with the way way it was packaged from the factory. When it arrived, the box containing the watch (Timex box) was cut. The watch wasn't attached to the plastic stand and there wasn't a little plastic piece by the watch stem. When the box was open the watch's second was moving and moving around in the Timex box.
