A Great Timex Metropolitan Activity Tracker Watch
This Timex Metropolitan+ watch is one gorgeous piece of workmanship. I switched the band to a black one, which made it that much more beautiful to me. And it performs perfectly, just as I read about and expected. Another thing I like about this activity watch is that I don’t even need my smartphone with me in order for it to keep track of my steps and distance, along with my sleep activity and the percentage of the goals I set within the app. I just come home, turn on the Bluetooth and sync it to my smartphone ‘Timex Connected’ app - it downloads all the results. Not only does the hour and minute hand glow in the dark – it’s an Indiglo too. And I don’t need to continually charge it every night like other activity watches – the Timex Metropolitan+ has a battery that is supposed to last well over a year. I have the Samsung Note 5 smartphone and it all works perfectly with it. Timex has really outdone itself here. I love this watch! Bravo, Timex!
So far, so good
First impressions...
It's big. Bigger than I expected, and heavy. But, smooth and surprisingly un-clunky.
It's pretty for a fitness tracker - classic and easy to dress up. I added a more feminine stainless band.
It synced to my app each time so far. Fingers crossed it stays working.
It does track sleep. The app isn't quite a beefy as my old Garmin used, but it will do. It *seems* to be accurate tracking steps also.
The indigo feature is fantastic.
Love that it doesn't need charging and has limited features- just what I want and nothing I don't.
Overall, quite pleased with it so far. Will update if anything changes
For the 2021 buyer
I hesitated buying this due to the mixed reviews on the app (last updated 2018) and low battery complaints. At the end of the day though, I didn't need a perfect app because the appeal to me was being able to see my steps in analog form
I'm happy I bough it! The watchface itself is nice although I did immediately switch out the band for a higher quality leather band (20mm BTW)
The app has posed no issues whatsoever and I wear this everyday! Something I was never able to do with fitness trackers because I hate charging daily
Great Watch!!!
Great Watch! It's simple, pretty, and so far reliable. I got the white face with leather band. The hands glow in the dark as well as the push of the main button and get an indigo back lighting. Second hand (which a lot of watches don't have). The big red hand shows steps . As well as the bottom Rt. Shows the % of your goal. You do not pair it to your phone to make it sinc to the app. That also saves your phone battery!!! I'm really happy with the watch. I have been a timex person for over 60 hrs. I've had 4 fitbits. 3 broke and replaced by Fitbit and one flew out of the band never to be seen again. I am very active. Riding horses and bathing horses, running , biking. Living is HOT sunny Fl. is hard on electronics. I've had this for a few weeks now and it still looks fairly new.
Great looking watch, I got a silicone orange and black band and it looks spectacular.
This watch is very easy to set up and work with every day to keep track of your steps and activity great app that comes with the watch to set up on your phone is very easy highly recommend it over some of the more expensive watches out there this does everything that you really wanted to do
Great buy
I’ve always love timex. This watch didn’t disappoint. Great Watch. The slogan was “ timex takes a licking and keeps on ticking” is correct. In the short time I have had this watch, I’ve put it through hell and it still works!
Their old slogan is new again...
Actually very impresses with this watch. Although it doesn't have a heart rate monitor capability...i havent has any issues with it, or the app...Also nice that you can sync with Google fit app.
The watch is stylish...haven't put on another watch since it arrived (and I have A LOT of watches to choose from).
Looks like a grown man's watch
Really like the simplicity of this watch, it looks like a regular watch, and is waterproof! I used it on a recent Hawaiian vacation, and it performed like a champ. I replaced the leather band with a Barton quick release synthetic rubber band (get one! they're great) and wore the watch in the pool, snorkeling and at the water park. We walked anywhere from 5-7 miles a day just touring and playing. Highly recommended. Only negative is that I wish it had the date. Oh btw, I own both the Apple Watch and Motorola 360 - I'm wearing the Timex more bc of the waterproofness (is that a word?).
