Timex Women's Easy Reader 25mm Date Watch

Love this watch , but for small wrists only!
I love my new Timex watch! It fits my wrist perfectly. But beware – I have a small rest and wear a size 7 bracelet.. Be sure you have a small wrist before you purchase this watch or it will be so tight it will be uncomfortable. I have difficulty finding watches that are small enough for me so I am delighted with this one. It is a very nice looking watch. It also appears to be keeping time very accurately.

my favorite for almost 20 years

This is my favorite watch. I have been wearing this watch for about 17 years. When I wear one watch out, I buy another one exactly like it. I got my first one at Walmart, and I've gotten a couple here on Amazon. Each watch has lasted about 5 to 7 years, and I am very hard on watches. I am working out a lot now, and sweating a significant amount at work-outs. So I wash off my watch with soap and water every day, and I was worried that this waterproof watch might somehow stop working with all this wear and tear. So I needed to buy another one for my backup. I could not find this watch anywhere but here on Amazon. No one seems to be selling it anymore. The watch is pretty, the gold is a lovely color, and it's very easy to read. The blueish light (Indiglo) comes on when you push in the setting knob, so it's easy to read the watch in dark environments. I have smaller wrists, so all the other watch bands I've tried slide down to my hand. This watch band stays put and is comfortable. For those of you with larger wrists, you might get a different watch band that fits you better, and use it with this watch. This watch band fits me perfectly, and the watch itself keeps perfect time, is easy to read, is feminine and pretty, and can take a beating. I tried one of those fitness watches, but it was expensive, ugly, black, and not comfortable. I love this Timex watch.

Fan of Timex! They really do take a licking and keep on ticking! Tho I haven’t tried, I still wouldn’t wear them under water tho. Why risk it? I wash my hands with it on and have no problem with water running down my wrists and it being a bit wet. I dry it off along with my hands and all is well. My favorite two things with this particular watch, it has two tone metal and I can wear gold or silver jewelry along side and no clashing. Maybe now , with rose gold jewelry, maybe they should make a tri colored band??? Just an idea. And my sevond favorite thing about it is the indiglo light! Bathroom trips in the middle of the night are no fun, but when pressed, the light is plenty bright enough to get me there safely without turning on extra lamps and waking my lover. Just a great value and looks great too!

5.0 out of 5 stars I keep buying this watch--for good reason
Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2019
Color: Gold-Tone/WhiteVerified Purchase
This model is my favorite, and I've been wearing it for three decades. It is also the subject of my favorite Timex story.

When I got my first well-paid job, I bought a pricey Bulova. Beautiful watch, but it stayed in the shop continually. So I went out and bought a Timex like this one as a backup to wear while my supposedly "good" watch was being fixed (yet again). Unlike the Bulova, the Timex got no special treatment; I wore it gardening, composting, working out till the sweat ran, washing dishes, and so on. I liked it precisely because it didn't require special treatment. And if I woke up in the middle of the night, I had it by my bed so that I could just press it and see the time without turning on a lamp. I was very happy with it.

But one day I lost it; I didn't notice until evening. By then, I had done a lot of yard/garden work, the usual fall chores: spreading mulch on the natural area, turning the spent vegetable garden for the end-of-season lull, turning the compost pile one last time for the season, and so on. I went out the next morning to retrace my steps but couldn't find the watch. Disappointing, but no big deal: the Timex was cheap, I'd had it for almost a year and gotten my money's worth, and my life was more sedentary in the winter. I'd buy another Timex when my life got active in the spring.

Fast-forward to the spring. No, on second thought, let me pause to say that the winter where I lived was typical: plenty of rain, plenty of snow, plenty of below-freezing temperatures. But when spring finally did roll around, I went out to the yard to do my spring chores. In double-digging my vegetable garden, I found my Timex. And guess what? It was still running, and it had kept perfect time despite being buried in clods of dirt.

The next time my expensive watch went out on me, I threw it in the garbage, and I have never worn any watch other than this model of Timex since then. It may not be a prestigious brand, but I decided I didn't care a fig. And that hasn't changed.

I can't judge the decline, if any, in workmanship over the decades. The last one I bought was almost eight years old when I lost it, and I never found that one. But my experience is such that I still think this one will outlast the other brands, anyway--and possibly outlast me. In any event, I'm not switching brands or models.

This watch is wonderful. Working just as well as the last one! The battery wore out on the last one. I live in a rural area and the only person in our small Walmart that is trained to replace the battery was promoted! She was able to change it last time, but has been promoted once again, and is away for training... So after really looking at the old one, The glass was scratched after 10-12 years of rough usage, band showing signs of wear after being stretched over my wrist supports.... I decided to go for a new one. I got the silver colored one. Looks nice on my wrist, keeping time, light working perfect. The only thing that I do not like about this watch is the date function. I can barely read it. Comes preset to 1... you have to roll it forward 24 times per day to change it! I suppose if you have good eyes, and nimble fingers, or wait till the first to start it? Then you have to remember to up the date every month with 31 days! Sigh! First world problems. Band fits perfect, waterproof, easy to read... Takes a lickin and keeps on ticking!

I love this watch. It goes with everything, casual or dressy, and tells time the old school way. If you ever have trouble seeing its perfect little face, just push the button and it will light up in Indiglo. By sad accident, I lost my first one (which I had for a year or two) and thought about changing to a different style-- but this is a little work horse and it just has an elegant look "round the clock"-- so I reordered the tried and true. Can't recommend it enough.

( Or you can take to a jewler ) now that it's the right size it's extremely comfortable. I wear it at all times except in the shower. I bought it for the light so I know what time it is thought the night. I also need the date on my watch or I apparently have no clue what day it is haha. I also prefer the numbers on the face like this , it makes it much easier to read. I feel this watch has everything ! So happy with it and highly recommend.

I finally replaced my 15 yr old Indiglo Timex when the face stopped illuminating when I pushed in the stem. Other than that, it still kept perfect time despite wearing it 24/7, getting it wet or covered in soil from my flower beds.
I usually order one with a leather band, but this time ordered an expandable band and I really like it. The band is too large for my wrist so it fits more like a bracelet, and I push it up my arm when it might get wet. Best of all I can check the time at night and not disturb my spouse.
I've worn a Timex for over 50 years and have never been disappointed. They last forever despite my poor care of My first watch was a Timex and have never felt the need to try another brand. They look nice and always keep perfect time. .

In the middle of the morning when you wonder what time it is you just have to push the button and you can go back to sleep because you didn't have to turn on the light to see the time or get up to look. I have several and when the indiglo quits working (as it does after a number of years) I just get a new one and use the ones without the "night light" to work in the yard.

Her eyesight isn't what it used to be but she can see the numbers bought with and without the indiglo feature in bright light and dim. The band is comfortable and doesn't pinch. It's a Timex so I know she will get years of use. Batteries are easy to find when it needs replaced too. There are just no cons to a Timex!

As are a lot of buyers, I am a nurse and this has always been my watch of choice. Bake to get time in the dark, to move it up and down my arm....I live it. However, my last one, purchased in 2018, needed anew battery. I got 2, one for my other same Timex. The problem IS....getting the back cover off (I finally did with help from YouTube and a sharp knife). But then neither I or a friend, could put either back on. SO I bought 4 batteries, used 2....and still wound up having to buy a new watch.
I have a 6 inch wrist. The band is a little loose but workable. One time I bought one with a too small band. I wish Timex would be a little more specific in describing band size. Just what IS Woman's standard size? Couldn't find that answer anywhere but hoped the one I purchased would fit me.
Still going to stand by this watch!

This watch is easy to read, and the indigo allows her to see without turning the light on and disrupting her sleep even further. I am so happy to have found a Timex just like she is used to using! No extra bells or whistles. Just simple analogue time keeping and a gentle glow at night when she most needs it eases her panic. Thank you.

I started wearing this watch many years ago when I was an active nurse. Hand washing is a big part of nursing and other watch bands would get wet and cause problems. This expansion band I could just move up my arm without having to take it off. Well, these many years later I am still wearing this watch (actually I have bought many of them when I could not find a source to replace the battery) because I have a vision problem and the numbers on the dial are easy to read. Also, I like that I can illuminate the dial in dark areas. It is a little difficult to set the day but that is not a problem because it is too little for me to read with my vision problem. I cannot determine how long the battery lasts but I know I haven't replaced this watch in several years. The cost is not prohibitive to replacement.

This is a beautiful watch. Timex watches are reliable as well as beautiful, and cost-effective. The two-toned look is very attractive, and it keeps time well. I have bought Timex Indiglo watches for many years, and really do not consider anything else when needing a new watch. I especially like the Indiglo feature: it's bright enough to see the display without any trouble at night, and I can always know what time it is in the dark.

These watches can stand a considerable amount of rought usage, and are water-resistant. I buy a new one about every five years, and that is because the old one has been dropped with a particular amount of force.

The bracelet is 1/2 inch wide--slightly wider than my previous ones were, but it's still very attractive and elegant.

We tried to get a new watch band for her old Timex watch, but that doesn't seem to be an easy thing anymore, so I bought her this one. It looks very similar to her old watch, but she loves the black numbers (her old watch had gold numbers, not the easiest to see, she is 90 years old) Timex is an old trusted friend, can't go wrong there! It actually fit her wrist without taking any links out, so it might run a little on the small side. She loves the Indiglo light too. Great purchase!!

I asked for a watch for my birthday and that is what I was given. Practical, useful, durable, lights in the dark. I like the stretchy band, as I have to take it on and off quickly several times a day for various reasons. Holds up to water splashing on it a bit when washing my hands and wrists. I ca't always dry it all off, doesn't seem to matter. Most of the time they last 6-7 years. It has been at least that long since I bought my last one. We'll see about this one. But for me, still th best for every day practical use. thanks Timex.

This is my favorite watch (well was, until I got an Apple watch :-). But I have it for a standby. I love the BIG numbers and most favorite of my granddaughter is that it has a light you can press on the stem to read it in the dark and she likes to check it out constantly (one reason I have had to change batteries). I love that aspect as well - can read it at night or in the movie theater very easily. Nope - Apple watch doesn't have that - needs to catch up! Oh - and I also LOVE the expandable elastic-type band so I can move it from my wrist to my hand - if I want to remember something (and that WORKS). Nope - I don't have that capability with the Apple watch - but can send myself a text.

I got this watch as a Christmas gift for my partner. It's a really nice-looking watch, and I'm sure she'll like wearing it someday. Unfortunately, the band is really small. I had to recheck the item listing here on Amazon to be sure I didn't accidentally purchase a child's watch. Nope. Apparently Timex thinks all women have really dainty little wrists.

As you can see in my photo, if you have wrists that are much bigger than a toilet paper tube, the band will be too tight. I mean, I know it's a stretch band, but to fit, it will have to stretch to an uncomfortable, pinching size. So now I have to spend more money to buy a bigger watchband.

I don't want to have to pull out my phone to check the time, so I wanted a watch that wasn't flashy that I could wear in kinda rough neighborhoods. Description: It's not a bright, shiny gold, more like antique gold, so not flashy. Small enough for my tiny tiny wrist. Simple, easy to read, lights up. The circumference of my wrist is 6 inches and it fits nicely, it doesn't slide off which is the main thing for me. (it would fit someone with a larger wrist too but i rarely find bracelets or watches that won't just slide off my wrist).

I did have a problem when I first tried to set the time. I went online to the Timex help site and they said to put it in the window, which didn't do any good so I called and found that I was just not pulling the stem to far enough. My old fingers are not as nimble as they once were! Once I got that answer it worked fine. I always wear expansion bands because it makes hand washing, so important now, easier. Healthcare workers need to wash not just the hands but the wrist and up the arm.
I have been buying Timex for 65 years and find even though they are no longer made in the US they are a good product. Of course having said that I have to admit watches, from Timex or anyone else, do not last as long. My first Timex lasted 30 years. Now we are lucky if a watch lasts 3 years. Sad.

Up side: it fits perfectly, I super-like the way it looks, it's easy to read the time, and it keeps good time too. I don't have to worry about washing the dishes or forgetting to take it off in the shower for its water resistance, but also the stretchy link band makes it so easy to slip off and slip back on.

The only frustrating down side is that I can't ever read the date when I'm out (old eyes) and when I do examine the date carefully with good light I don't know why, but it's always off despite the time be spot on. I understand "30 days hath September" and that's not the problem!

Still, to end on an up note, when I inadvertently left this watch in a hotel I immediately bought another one.

My wrist is just under 6 inches, and I had to bring the band to a jeweler to have it shortened. It is not something you can do yourself. The date however, is very small and you really have to peer at it. The most significant difference between the old and new model is the brightness of the night light - the new one is a bit dimmer. My 94-year-old mom loves this watch. I have two issues: date window is very small and date is hard to read. (I need a magnifying glass to read the date.) However reading the time is very easy (high marks for the large numbers on the dial !). My only other complaint is that initially setting the date is a pain. It’s the old school: “pull knob to set time and spin hands forward 24 hours for each day you want to advance to.” Example: you open your brand new watch and the date is set to the first. You received the watch on the 11th so you need to adjust the date from 1 to 11. That means to get the date to 11 you need to spin the hour/minute hands forward the equivalent of 10 days. That’s annoying. Fortunately you only have to do it once and then you only deal with months that have 30 days instead of 31… (Spin the hands forward one day to go from June 30 to July 1) You get the idea. I can’t speak to water resistance. This watch is good value for the money. I give it a solid four stars.

My wrist is less than 6" so I knew the band would be big (which it is). I don't like tight watches and prefer a bangle look. My hope was that this would also prevent the stretch links from pinching, but unfortunately it doesn't - ouch. I do wish the band was high polish to match the face rather than brushed or stainless looking. Other than those two complaints, I think the price reflects a good value for this Timex.

Also if you want to set the date it's going to take a while because the only way I found to do it is to rotate the hands over and over and over again, 24 hours each day, so I decided not to use that, but you might want to. All in all I'm very happy with my purchase.

What a nice feature having the light. Just push the nob for setting time and night light! Nowhere in the instructions does it tell you how to change the date. That's unfortunate because the date is wrong. Also the band is big so the watch circles around your wrist unless you shove it up higher than your wrist. But honestly I can live with those inconveniences because the numbers are easy to see up close and at a distance and the light is a bonus.

This would have received a 5 star review except for the fact that the band was too large for my wrist and I had to have links removed. Otherwise, a nice every day watch and still a good buy despite the extra charge for the band's size reduction. If your wrist is 6", this band may be too large. The watch I received had a 7" band.

I have purchased this same Timex Easy Reader watch several times over the years. I love it. It’s very functional and because it’s water resistant I very seldom take it off even doing dishes. And the indigo light is a must at night. I hate trying to find my phone to check the time. However as you can see by the pictures this watch band is much bigger than my previous one. It just flops around my wrist. For reference, my wrist measures 6”. I’m going to see if my mom can wear it. If not I will have to return it. But all in all I love the watch.

Now I remember why my old Timex was BIG. It was because I bought a men's watch because the women's was a bit tight on my wrist, as this one is. My wrist is 7 1/4 inches and I am very glad to get this off my wrist after the need for it has passed. Otherwise it is a great watch. Now to find a local place that replaces batteries. So many of those shops are gone and I have to travel a bit to find one. Once when replacing battery I wrecked the back of a watch so not trying it again.

The only negative thing is that the expansion wristband popped off after only a few months. I took it to a local family owned jewelry store and the man fixed it for $2. It was around Christmas and I had to wait over a week to get it fixed. I sure am glad I have my Timex watch back with me because I missed it very much. Yes, I'll order again from same company at amazon. KayM Jan 11 2020

Simple watch, use it for work in hospital. Lighted face comes in handy & large, easy to read dial. Great value for the money. I have very small wrists & the watch band fits almost perfect, with a little slack. So I agree with other reviewers that if you have larger wrists, the band may stretch to fit you but it wouldn't be the most comfortable. The band is built for smaller wrists.

Nice looking watch. Easy to read. However, it fits being an expansion band but I have an average size wrist and do find it somewhat uncomfortable,
fitting very snugly on the wrist. Frequently find myself taking it off when it pinches my skin. Would definitely not recommend this watch if you have a
larger wrist and would not recommend if you have an average size wrist but prefer a watch that has a little more play in it.

Extremely readable. That's great. But consider it a throwaway, because when the battery goes dead you will either have to pay someone to replace it for almost as much just getting a new watch, or you will throw this away because it is IMPOSSIBLE to get the case opened and/or closed again (if you do manage to get it opened.) All those handy how-to lists on the internet? Garbage. I think it's the water resistant gasket that is the problem. Regardless, after a few of these I quit trying and now I just order a new one. Which galls me because I hate not being able to repair things, and replacing a cheap batter should be EASY TO DO IN A TIMEX.

3.0 out of 5 stars My wife likes this watch.

My wife likes this watch. The only problem is the bands tend to snag on things and the brass link caps pop off. If you find the they can be reattached, if not you either need to find a new band or get a new watch. This is her second one of these, she used the first one for 2 years until she lost one of the caps so just purchased a new watch. A month into wearing the new one she had a link cap pop off. Luckily we found it and I reattached it.

If you need to shorten the band: To remove links from the band you need; knife (preferably dull), pointed tweezers and a magnifying glass. Bend the tabs on the ends of the links and pull the staple connecting links together. Do not attempt if you are not mechanically inclined. To set the calendar; pull out the stem then push it in slightly as you turn it to change the date.

3.0 out of 5 stars I RETURNED IT FOR REFUND

The Timex arrived about 4 weeks after I placed the order. The watch and extra leather band and Timex document came inside a small ziplock bag inside a Amazon white plastic mailing bag without padding. The watch did not come in any kind of box. The little ziplock bag with watch and extra band was just loose inside the mailer.
I would've kept the watch but the stem wouldn't turn the date backwards. I tried and tried without success. So if the date says it's the 20th and you want to set it on the 19th, for example, you would have to turn the stem through the entire month to arrive at 19. I'm not willing to go through that much turning.
The other problem is the watch was advertised as having Indiglow but that is false.
So it's a nice watch but too much trouble for me.
The refund to my gift card came the day after UPS picked up the cardboard box I sent it back in, with air pillows for packing.

Just a plain, functional watch. I bought it only for the Indiglo, for its small face, and for the expansion band. Bit expensive for what it is, honestly. Don't buy this for the calendar feature: it's unreadable.

My wrist is 7" where my watches normally sit (a fraction higher on arm than the wrist bone). I usually have to have links removed. This watchband BITES and leaves indents after just a couple minutes' wear. If you bought this to fit a 7.5" wrist, as the description says it would fit, you would be hurting.

Also, it came in a Timex box that I basically had to destroy to get open. IDK how you'd return one of these, since you have to mangle the packaging beyond repair to get to the thing.

I've worn this particular style (exact model) of watch for some years now. This is the second time I've ordered from Amazon. The reason that I had to order this particular time was that the battery needed replacement in my previous watch. My husband replaced the battery but could not, even with multiple tries, replace the back on the watch! In his efforts, the crystal shattered. No worries ... I ordered a new one, arrived promptly and appeared just fine, however the band (I have a small wrist and in all previous watches bought, I loved how well it fit) The new band is FAR looser and is unable to be adjusted! My new watch swivels around my wrist. My husband is going to try to attempt to swap out the band for the older one that fits correctly, but we are both nervous that it will result in a broken band! I may find future watch purchases will have to be made elsewhere.

I LOVE everything about this watch EXCEPT how hard it is to size the band. It arrived during the lock down for Covid-19. The watch band was WAY to big for my wrist. My husband has been adjusting watch bands for me for 50 years. He got the links out but was impossible for him to get it back together. All the watch repair places were closed during the shut down. Finally was able to take it in today (June 10) after receiving the watch in April. The watch repair person had been doing this for 40+ years and it took him 45 minutes to get it back together. Afterwards he told us what an awful band that was to work with. I think Timex should provide bands that are easy to adjust to the wearer. This was an inconvenience and cost me $15 to boot. So my review is much lower than it would have been.

That great experience made me buy another one ! But he watch couldn't display the date properly after a month that i had bought it. So I bought a second one and the Indiglo didn't work after three weeks of using it ! And it was not the batteries, which i had changed and couldn't get to close the watch after The jeweler opened it. I must say that through out the years the quality of TIMEX has been declining drastically. This is my fifth watch from TIMEX and i hope that the fifth one will work just as long as the first ones i had bought 20 years ago... Time will tell... If not I will be changing brand and try out another brand. Thats why I give 3 stars. I should give it 1 for the last two watches i had bought !

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty but Small
Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2014
Color: Gold-Tone/WhiteVerified Purchase
The Timex T2H351 is pretty, but small. It is difficult to judge an online photograph of a "gold-tone" watch. One never knows if it will be that ugly cheap overly shinny brassy-gold color or a less-gaudy subtle gold color, in this case it is the later. It is a fine looking watch, the date numbers are tiny though. It is always good to have the second hand and the "indiglo" night light is a welcome feature.
Both the description and the enclosed pamphlet go to great lengths discussing how one may remove links in the bracelet to make it smaller however the bracelet is already too small for average to large wrists (6 1/2 - 7"). It is perplexing in the extreme to try to decipher why the company doesn't put 'extra' links in the bracelet if they go to the trouble of preparing you to take them out. In it's present size, this watch was too small and was given to a 9 year old, it fit perfectly.(see pic below) It does not seem that the watch is suitable for truly average sized or slightly larger wrists.
For persons with really larger than average wrists ( 8"+) the company does produce an extra-long band, but only in a two-tone version, not this model.

Edit of my review after 3rd watch purchase:
I have now purchased this watch through Amazon 3 or 4 times. I love the watch and that's why it gets my repeat business. I last purchased it in 2018. Now it is December 2021 and I got a new one. The band is now 6.5 in long. The earlier models that fit well were 5.5 in long. I couldn't find band length anywhere in the description. Searching reviews I found people had remarked on the earlier model being tight and gave the 5.5 in measure. I've reached out to Timex asking why the exact same model isn't working for me now. Curious to hear their response. Below is my earlier review.
Good watch that's comfortable on the wrist and easy to read. It is next to impossible to change the battery yourself without damaging the watch however. As a result, you can plan to take it to a jeweler for a new battery, or buy a new watch every couple of years. My husband damaged the crystal trying to replace what is a pretty inexpensive battery. There are lots of videos on battery replacement but it just didn't work for us with either of 2 slightly different Timex watches.

And she is very average sized and wears metal band watches frequently without this problem. Not sure why the band is so small, will probably have to replace the band. Otherwise, I thought the face would be a bit bigger being an easy reader but the print is bold so it is easier to read than many others.

This is an update to an earlier review as I have just received a new watch of the same model as the previous purchases. Below is the review of my last purchase. The band of this watch though appearing exactly as the previous has 4 more links in the band. This does not fit me, whereas the earlier purchases were reviewed high for the size of the band which fit my rather narrow wrist. The old review said: (The band is attractive. I've purchased Timex indiglo watches several times (usually at Walmart) as they are easy to read in the dark. They typically last me about 2 years and by the time the battery is dead, the glass surface is a mess. My major complaint is that the glass surface is not very hard, so this one, with three weeks of wear, is marred by scratches already). So to the former glowing review I have added a complaint that no where did it say this band would be larger than before.

Jeezie Peezie, the whole of Amazon, I go searching for a large faced dial watch to give to my mother who has a hard time seeing. What the heck is wrong with product development in watches? (Or what the heck is wrong with search on Amazon?) I came up with this one, read the reviews, and thought I would give it a try. You can just about ONLY see this face when the light is on. Don't get me wrong, the light is great, but you shouldn't have to turn it on to clearly see the numbers. And the supposed date on the watch might as well be a spot of dust. Absolutely useless. Furthermore, the band is too restrictive, and doesn't come with extra links. It pinches. I want a band that she can put on herself with one hand. A normal watch band with the tiny clasp is too difficult to put on when you live alone and have a hard time seeing. This is the downside of buying online instead of going to a store and seeing the product. I never would have purchased this in a store. Producing a stylish watch for people with these basic features, that could even be ported to the younger set (think of not having to take your phone out at a night club), should be a no brainer! I'd buy four of them in different colors and styles!

2.0 out of 5 stars Beware for the band length!

Color: Silver-Tone/WhiteVerified Purchase
TIMEX has been my favorite watch for probably 40 years. It has good quality and features for the price. However, the BAND length can be an issue, as it has now become for me. The band for this watch is listed as "standard" (whatever that means!) and it pinches my 6.76" circumference wrist. Other than the band length (which makes it unwearable for me) it would have been the watch to wear that I've been dedicated to over the last 40 years.
So - be careful when looking at TIMEX watches. They need to start stating the circumference of the entire watch (face and band) so you can determine if it will fit your wrist comfortably. Even the TIMEX website doesn't answer this question for me as of 6/3/2016.

This watch looks great but is definitely for someone with a small wrist. It left quite an indent on my wrist when I took it off so will probably give it to a friend of mine. The packaging was very cheap and I had to destroy it to get the watch out of the weirdly cut and folded cardboard container. Face is smaller than it looks on the picture but can be seen by someone with some vision problems. There is also another piece of plastic that is around the stem which was a real pain to get off. You have to get it off to change the time and push the stem in so it will work. Make sure you have an exacto knife as that is what I had to use. Band does stretch (expand is the new word used) but not enough for a big boned person.

Mom loves the watch, but the date is virtually unreadable. The rest of the watch is Easy Reader, but the date is so tiny, she has to use a magnifier to read it. And there are NO instructions as to how to set the date. I went online and found the manual (Googled the model number, "Timex Watch T2H3819J"), and the instructions for date set: "PULL crown to “middle” position and turn CLOCKWISE until correct day appears. If day does not change, pull crown to “out” position and turn CLOCKWISE or COUNTERCLOCKWISE through necessary number of 24 hour periods until correct day appears." These are instructions, actually, for any Timex watch, and they do little to help you figure out how to set only the date. Despite repeated efforts, the date still doesn't adjust correctly. It has to be manually adjusted each morning. Frustrating.

Now, as of 5/1/2018 (less than 5 months from purchase), when Mom clicks the Indiglo button, the light remains on and won't go off, so it is draining the battery. This is a MAJOR disapointment.

1.0 out of 5 stars Trash!!!
Reviewed in the United States on August 7, 2019
Color: Silver-Tone/WhiteVerified Purchase
Purchased this watch June 29, 2017; watch stopped December 2017, replaced battery still didn’t work, replaced another battery still didn’t work. Threw it in the trash!! Thought maybe it was an Amazon problem but since I had broken my arm and had surgery I couldn’t type or write. So later purchased same watch locally in April 2018; stopped working April 2019, replace battery still didn’t work replaced battery still didn’t work. Threw it in the trash!!!
Very, Very, Very disappointed with Timex!!!!!! - which years ago had been wonderful when I wore a watch all the time- so tried it again (since I haven’t worn a watch since 1975.)

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed-Not For Small Wrists
Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2022

I have had several Timex Easy Reader Indiglo watches over 20 years and have never had a problem with the watch band not being easily adjustable. I damaged my previous Timex Easy Reader and simply wanted to replace it. The watch that arrived looked great, but was for a 7.5-inch wrist...my wrist is 6-inches. I downloaded the Timex manual which included instructions for adjusting several types of expansion bands, none of which was the band I received. Not only am I not willing to go to a jeweler and pay an additional $10-$20 to have it resized, I live in a town decimated by a wild fire and would have to drive a minimun of 1-hour each way to get to the nearest town with a jeweler and I don't want to expose myself to Covid. I can't return it because in my attempts to resize it I can't get the band together again and in addition if I were to return it I would have to make the same trip to the UPS office in the next town. Beware. Timex products aren't what they used to be...at least in this instance.

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't Keep Time Well
Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2015

Great sleek design, but with a major flaw: it doesn't keep time well. I've had it for almost 2.5 months and have noticed that every few days, I have to reset the time to the correct time because this watch is a little too slow. It loses maybe 2 or 3 minutes in around a week. Having to keep track of the accuracy of time on this watch is a huge hassle and I'm really disappointed because I love the way it looks and the expansion band is the perfect size for me. Even though I love the design so much, if it cannot provide such a basic function as keep accurate time, I'm going to have to retire it and look for another watch. I will probably still get a timex watch because I've owned other timex watches that are great, but it's disappointing to know that I may have gotten a defective watch this time around.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not at all water resistant
Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2019
Color: Gold-Tone/WhiteVerified Purchase
I've had this watch for less than 4 months and while using a public restroom the water faucet sprayed sideways a bit and now my watch is filled with condensation. The sales description says "Water resistant to 99 feet (30 M): withstands rain and splashes of water." This is hardly the case - it couldn't handle a small amount of spray from a handwashing faucet. While washing my hands the watch never came in direct contact with the faucet, it was simply a small amount of sideways spray. I called the Timex customer service number and was told they'd repair it if I paid the $8 shipping fee. That's unexcusable for a water resistant watch that I've had for less than 4 months. My family won't buy Timex again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Even Without a Beating, This just Stops Ticking
Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2017

The watch I received was clearly defective when it stopped running on three different occasions in the first days that I owned it. I have returned it, and I will probably re-order it, hoping that the next one will not have the same problem. The face is large enough that it is easy to read, which was my purpose in buying this particular model. The expansion band was not as comfortable as I could have wished; it periodically pinches my skin although I would have said it was a good fit until that happened. I liked the Indiglo lighting.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not happy with item or packing. "New" watch obviously a return or old store display.
Reviewed in the United States on November 25, 2020

Not happy. Rather than a new watch I received a store return or display watch. The watch box was old and torn. A new Timex has a protective snap-off ring around the watch stem so the watch will not run & use up the battery. Mine arrived running with no stem stopper. Also watch & a heavier item were packed in one too-large box with no protective styrofoam peanuts to keep items from bashing into each other.

1.0 out of 5 stars Expansion band way too big
Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 2018
Color: Two-Tone/WhiteVerified Purchase
I received my watch today and unfortunately it is too big for my small wrist. I took it to a jeweler who wouldn’t remove links because doing so would damage the integrity of the band. I have to return it and get a bracelet style band that can be adjusted. My wrist is about 6.25inches.
